Outer layer

Made of cross-linked polyethylene PE-Xb which provides mechanical, electrical and chemical protection of the aluminum layer, protecting it from impacts, abrasions or the electrochemical aggression of water, cement and other substances contained in the ground. Essentially, in high-density polyethylene, a reaction of the double bonds is caused, so that a large number of them are joined and with the help of silane molecules, a homogeneous three-dimensional lattice structure (net) of high molecular weight is created.

Intermediate layer

It is made of an aluminum alloy that guarantees a complete barrier against the passage of oxygen and provides excellent mechanical strength and flexibility during installation.

Adhesive layers

They consist of a powerful additive which catalyzes the connection of the intermediate aluminum layer with the inner and outer PE-Xb layers.

Inner layer

The inner layer of the pipe is also made of PE-Xb, a material approved for the transport of potable water according to European and American regulations of the same composition as the NSF-approved raw material, and which is binding for Interplast in the exports of Como Pex in the United States of America and Canada. The PE-Xb material is characterized by an extremely smooth surface that reduces hydraulic resistance.

Important note

PE-X naturally has excellent behavior at high temperatures combined with high pressures, improved impact and chemical resistance as well as a very long service life.
