QUALITY ASSURANCE DURING THE PRODUCTION

Our foremost concern and commitment is assurance of total quality. A
significant part of our efforts is aimed in this direction. The mechanical
equipment used for the manufacture of the pipes and fittings assures the highest
degree of quality. Apart from the usual mechanical equipment for pipe
manufacture, Interplast production lines are equipped with the equipment listed
below, ensuring that the consumer receives a final product of the highest
quality.

In this way the intake of the Extruder is stabilized for raw materials that easily absorb humidity. Thus we eliminate the problem of altered dimensions, which is a quite frequent phenomenon in plastic pipes.

In this way we can achieve an accuracy of materials mix divergence in the order of ± 0.01%. In raw materials such as PEX it is very important to have an accurate cross-linking additive proportion. If the proportion is not absolutely accurate the pipe loses mechanical strength or becomes hard during manipulation by the plumbing-heating technician.

Thus we achieve steady weight per meter in the manufactured pipe, which means steady dimensions. This is the first part of ensuring the steady dimensions of the pipes.

A system where we define the desired limits of wall thickness which are then regulated automatically by means of the extruder. This is the second part of ensuring the steady dimensions of the pipes.

|
This is the third and final part of electronic testing. The absolute values of the laser scanner ensure proper fit between the fittings (plastic and brass) and the corresponding pipes.

In addition to all the above which, in Interplast’s case, are a prerequisite for manufacturing its products, the following are just some of the many aspects that ensure the high quality of the pipes and fittings.
Excellent mechanical equipment, specially designed for pipes intended for building construction (PEX,PP-R,PP-H,PB). We thus achieve optimal homogenisation of the materials in all our products.
Fitting test of pipes and fittings. In this way we ensure proper fit between components of our own manufacture.
Pipes and fittings dimensions are checked by each line operator. The outer diameter is checked by means of a calibrated strap gauge and wall thickness by means of calibrated instruments.
Measurements and fitting tests performed by foremen on an hourly basis. All measurements are registered in Interplast’s Quality Assurance System, in compliance with standard ΕΝ ISO 9001:2008, which is updated daily by the persons responsible.
