Polypropylene is considered an ecological material and it is recommended by Greenpeace, in contrast to PVC (polyvinylchloride), which due to the chloride it contains it is not recommended by environmental protection organizations.
Moreover, PP is significantly superior with regard to its chemical resistance compared to PVC (polyvinylchloride), and its resistance to high temperatures (PP is resilient to 95oC and PVC to 70oC).
PP is 40% lighter than PVC, which means easier transport, storage and installation of the pipes and fittings.
Also, connections at PP systems do not require the use of glue or other materials, which means quick and simple work, and the final absolutely watertight operation of the sewage system thanks to the use of elastic rings.

PP used in Atlas-Plus pipes is self-extinguishing and in cases of fire, the flame is not fed and it is not transmitted; also no chocking gases are produced, in contrast to ordinary PP or PE (polyethylene) or even worse PVC, which produces hydrochloric acid when it burns.
Also, it is a homopolymer (PP type 1 or PP-H) polypropylene, something which makes it extremely rigid even at very high temperatures, with no softening phenomena compared to other polypropylene types (Type 2 or PP-B), while because it has special extra additives to its material, it has very high resistance to impact.

The Atlas-Plus pipe is exceptionally resistant to impact, even at temperatures way below zero. Atlas-Plus pipes greatly exceed the requirements of the standard, with mechanical strengths during impact of heavier spheres from greater heights compared to the standard’s specifications, and mainly at temperatures much lower than 23oC, which are in the order of 5 degrees Celsius below zero (-5oC).

The Atlas-Plus pipe is exceptionally resistant to UV solar radiation, due to special additives in its material – nevertheless it is recommended to protect it with plastic paint when it is installed outdoors, in order to maximize its lifespan.

No. The vibrations transferred from the building to the System will be absorbed by the elastic rings, without creating any problem.

|
The watertightness of the Atlas-Plus system is achieved through the use of elastic rings at the connections with coupling. No use of glue is required, compared to PVC pipes, which is harmful to the health of the installers due to the very irritant chemical substances contained in the glue.

The contractions are absorbed by the couplings in the Atlas-Plus system. However, in long straight sections they should be calculated.

Yes. Use the special pipe cutting tools and if this is not feasible, use a saw with small and sharp teeth. Watch that the cutting angle is vertical to the pipe’s longitudinal axis and remove the burrs.

In vertically installed pipes install supports at regular intervals measuring 15 times the diameter, and in horizontally installed pipes 10 times the diameter. A clamp must be installed at all couplings.

No. PVC glue cannot dissolve PP.
|
|
|
|
Yes. It requires at least 2 layers of sand, 15cm each, under and above the system. If heavy vehicles are to pass over it, the use of concrete or mesh is recommended before the final fill.

The Atlas-Plus system has product certification for its physical and mechanical properties, as well as for its non-combustibility property, by Internationally acclaimed German Institute SKZ, and the Ukrainian Organization Sepro.
The System has 10 years guarantee from the installation date for an amount of 500,000 euros and the up to a maximum amount of 3,000,000 euros.
